Mercury Detox

As a dentist, I am not licensed to supervise a detox program for a patient.  This needs to be done with the health care practitioner of your choice.

If you choose to have your mercury amalgam fillings replaced, please remember that this is just the first step, like turning off the faucet.  Now you have to bail out the boat by doing the most important step, getting rid the mercury that has bound itself to the cells in your body.  This can best be done by doing things that will enable the body to detoxify.

There are hundreds of sites and products on the web on heavy metal and mercury detox.  One can go too fast, take the wrong products, do the wrong things, and end up in trouble.  That is why it's recommended to have your detox supervised and monitored closely by a qualified health care practitioner.

The links below recommend good protocols.  Keep in mind that some of these have products to sell, but the info they are giving is very valid:

Dr. Mercola's Mercury Detoxification Protocol - We all know Dr. Mercola, these are very good recommendations.

Metal-Free is a product I personally use and recommend.  The manufacturer calls it "The Ultimate in Heavy Metal Detoxification."  It is derived from naturally occurring substances, including sea minerals, algae extract, and amino acids.  Metal-Free is an oral chelation agent, sprayed directly in the mouth, that detoxifies the body of harmful heavy metals. Heavy metals are associated with an oxidation process that breaks down healthy cells, causing tissue damage in the body.

Another product I recently started taking is Waiora Natural Cellular Defense.  It claims to remove heavy metals and mercury from cells in the body.  It tested well for me, so we'll see how we do with it.  Will keep you updated.

Again, more technical data in a book by Andrew Hall Cutler PhD, Amalgam IllnessThis is the most complete data on mercury detox that we've ever seen.  Dr. Cutler received his PhD in chemistry from Princeton and a BS in physics from U Cal.  If you can confront this technical type of reading, it's a great reference book to have.  We have it available at our office or you can order at the bookstore on our site.

Dr. Hulda Clark has a lot of good data on dentistry and detoxing in her books.  You can get them on the web or at bookstores.  This is her official site, and there is another about her and her books.

Jeff Clark was an engineer at a high tech company in the Pacific Northwest.  He was quite ill, and received several incorrect diagnoses.  Out of desperation, he took matters in his own hands, did a lot of research, and discovered he was mercury toxic.  After his full recovery, he quit his high tech job, and now helps people full time with detox issues.
